Mooting is absolutely essential to those intending to pursue a career at the bar, as well as an impressive activity to put on any CV. Mooting has long been integral to the Oxford Law Society term; whether it be tailored to beginners and non-lawyers or for the experienced mooter. This term we have the introduction of the Varsity Moot, kindly sponsored by Henderson Chambers. We will be holding the heats in first week and the best mooters will be selected to moot against Cambridge at the prestigious Gray’s Inn, London.
As usual, we will be holding a Mooting Masterclass in which barristers from 4 Pump Court will deliver a moot to be judged by a senior member of Chambers. This event provides invaluable advice on mooting and common mooting errors which is ideal for the experienced and novice mooter alike.
Finally, we have the prestigious, three-round, Crown Office Mooting competition in which participants will battle through the intricacies of Tort, Contract and Trusts to receive cash prizes, an exclusive Finalists’ Celebratory Dinner, and of course, the esteemed title of The Crown Office Mooting Champion.
We are delighted with the line-up for Mooting this term and it would not have been possible without the very generous sponsorship of Henderson Chambers, 4 Pump Court and Crown Office Chambers.
