Join leading city law Macfarlanes LLP to learn more about the art of successful negotiation. The event will include an introduction to the firm, a negotiation workshop, Q&A on applications and a networking session.

The session will be especially useful for those currently making vacation scheme and training contract applications and attending assessment centres as negotiation exercises are frequently used to assess candidates.

Join Oxford Law Society, UN Women Oxford and the Oxford Women* In Law Student Society on Wednesday 27th November from 7pm for our panel event entitled 'Smashing the Glass Ceiling in Law: Where We've Come From, Where We're Heading'.
This panel is aimed at discussing the issues facing women in law and highlighting what can and is being done to create a more inclusive environment for everyone.
Guest include:
-Chair: Prof. Rebecca Williams, leading Oxford legal academic whose work has been cited in the European Court of Justice, the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal of England and Wales, and the High Court of Australia.

-Helen Mountfield QC, barrister at Matrix Chambers. Expert in equality and discrimination law, famously appearing for the winning parties in the Supreme Court in Miller v Secretary of State for Exiting the EU.

-Penelope Warne, Senior Partner and Chairman of the UK Board of CMS, Head of Energy.

-Holly Stebbing, Disputes and Litigation Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright with an active role in NRF’s gender diversity efforts.

We are delighted to announce that the Oxford Law Society Michaelmas Term Ball 2019 sponsored by Hogan Lovells will be held on the Cutty Sark, in intrepid Victorian sailing ship, the fastest of its time, which sailed around the globe before coming to rest to Greenwich in 1922.

A coach will pick you up from Oxford to transport you to this spectacular location, next to the Old Royal Naval College. Sip Moët as you roam the decks of the world famous ship, and explore underneath the hull where live musicians will perform for your entertainment. Following the dinner, there will be arcade amusements, casino games, magicians, caricaturists, ballet, and, of course, a DJ to dance to as you enjoy the fully open bar with cocktails and non-alcoholic options. At 1 AM, we will all board a coach back to Oxford.

The price for tickets will be £121. Tickets will be allocated through a randomised ballot which will close on Wednesday of 6th Week at 9 PM.
